Dear Universe: Science is blasphemy to religion. I know I am right in this. God’s righteousness will reign. In fact, I think you are a blasphemy, too. You will pay for your crimes. Let the mysteries be. I have no question. ~ Righteous, Oklahoma
Dear Goodness: The same thing was said during the Roman Inquisition when Galileo was tried and convicted for declaring the Earth revolves around the sun, rather than the Church’s belief in geocentricity. Labeling someone as blasphemous, or a heretic was as powerful as calling someone a witch. It takes the heat off the accuser, displacing blame onto another so you don’t have to take responsibility for your own ignorance. But, really, people feared for their lives and livelihood because independent thought was made into a crime by those seeking to control the masses. Generations later, it’s been well-trained out you to think for yourself. The true “crime” is a heart so closed, you are unable to see what is as plain as the nose on your face. What you call God is everywhere–even in science. Open your heart and you will one day see it is so for yourself.
